Opened in 1979 to coincide with the Eketahuna School Centennial.The museum is situated in the first school that was built in Eketahuna in 1890. There is a display of memorabilia and photographs featuring the early days of Eketahuna and the district. Fashion parades of period costumes, dating back to the 1870s are a speciality.

Holyoake Memorial
2kms from town on Mangahao Rd opposite the Kiwi Dairy Co.This memorial marks the birthplace of one of New Zealand’s most illustrious statesmen, Keith Holyoake, born 11 February 1904.His parents ran the country store at Mangamutu, Pahiatua.In 1932 he entered politics as the Reform Party member for Motueka.In 1943 he became the National Party member for Pahiatua, a position he held for the next 34 years.He always recorded his vote at the Mangamutu polling booth.

Polish Memorial
The Polish Memorial is located on the outskirts of Pahiatua at the site of the one-time Polish children’s camp.
The memorial was erected in
appreciation of the shelter given
to 734 Polish immigrant children who, in 1944, survived the experience of being shipped from
Siberia to New Zealand to start a new life. When thesunshines onthemonument, it casts a shadow whichrepresents a mother and child.

Town Squares
The squares in the middle of town, with their well tended trees, shrubs and flower beds, are a pleasant sight and something to enjoy.Included is the war memorial flagstaff (1900) and Bain Memorial.
The early pioneers planned such a wide thoroughfare for the railway steam locomotive whose progress through the middle of Pahiatua’s early settlement was intended to raise land prices and attract more people and in doing so further the prosperity of the new settlement.
Tui Brewery
